Parsing

It’s going pretty slow for us. For most of us, it’s the first major Haskell program done on our own, away from a textbook, and for me it was my first time using Parsec.

However, we’ve got unit and functional test frameworks in place (with a tiny little server of our own to connect to just to verify that we do connect and parse messages), our controller is connecting to the server, reading messages, and doing some limited parsing of them. It’s good enough to connect to the simulator and listen to it, which is encouraging.

Paul, our computational geometry guy, finally got in touch, and Bryan’s getting him set up now. Unfortunately he’s on Windows, so he can run neither our functional test server nor the simulator, but with luck he can get enough working to start hacking on some algorithms for generating movement commands. And we’ve still got to set up Ike when he decides to get his computer going. (He’s currently working out various strategies on paper.)
